About the Artist
- Katie Peterson
- New Haven, Connecticut, United States
- Katie works primarily with oil paints that are thinned with fluid mediums, specifically Liquin, and then layered onto canvases she stretches herself. She also likes to watercolor. While studying abroad in Venice in 2008, she discovered her love of printmaking. Of the many printmaking techniques, Katie is familiar with Woodcut, Linocut, Lithography, Drypoint, Mezzotint, and Monotype, but she especially loves Etching, Intaglio, Aquatint, and the delicate artform of Engraving. Katie graduated from Boston University in May 2010 with her B.F.A. in Painting, and with minors in Printmaking and Western Art History. She currently resides outside of New Haven, Connecticut.
